
Biography
Karen Rose Smith has sold over 50 books since 1991. She has won New Jersey's Golden Leaf Award in short contemporary romance as well as the Golden Quill award in traditional romance. Her romances have made both the USA TODAY list and the Waldenbooks Bestseller list for Series Romance.
After six years of writing and thirteen completed manuscripts, Karen sold two
books in one week! She has published with Silhouette Romance and Special
Edition, as well as with Meteor/Kismet and Kensington's Precious Gems. A past
president of the Central PA Romance Writers, she has given workshops on
conflict, character, love scenes and synopsis writing to neighboring chapters
and at national conferences. A graduate of Shippensburg University in PA with a
BS in English and French secondary education, she earned graduate credits in
both English and Counseling. Formerly an English teacher and home
decorator, she began writing romances when back surgery interrupted her
lifestyle. Karen lives in Pennsylvania with her husband of over thirty years.
Their son is a research scientist working in Oklahoma.
Karen has read romance novels since she was a teenager because they end with happily-ever-after. She thinks everyone needs hope in an ideal and an escape from time to time. And that's why she can see herself writing romance novels for a long time to come.
